A-05 Voice layer

Voice & Unified Comms Business phones that just work.

Cloud phone systems, call flows that send callers to the right person, and onboarding that gets your team comfortable from the first call. Paging, messaging and backup tie it all together.

A-05.1 Capabilities

What’s in scope.

Everything we design, install and support under voice & unified comms — scoped to your site after a walk-through, not from a template.

  1. Cloud phone systems

Hosted VoIP in place of an on-site phone server — desk phones, softphones and mobile apps on one number plan, managed from a web portal.

  2. Call flows & auto attendants

Auto attendants, ring groups, queues and after-hours routing designed with you, so callers reach the right person the first time.

  3. Onboarding & training

Phones configured, numbers moved and your team walked through the system, so day one feels routine instead of disruptive.

  4. Storage, backup & messaging

Cloud voice, file storage, backup and messaging working together, so communications and the files behind them live in one place.

  5. PA & zone paging

Zone paging and network-integrated PA — announcements to one area or the whole building through ceiling speakers and phones.

  6. Voice-ready networks

Voice VLANs, quality-of-service and PoE switching so calls stay clear even when the network is busy.

A-05.2 How we deliver

Five steps, every job.

The same process from a single-rack retrofit to a multi-site rollout. Nothing is signed off until it has been tested and documented.

  1. Step 01: Assess

We walk the site with you — pathways, closets, power, existing systems — and document what is actually there before anything is priced.

  2. Step 02: Design

A clear plan for the infrastructure, scoped to your site — no guesswork, no surprises.

  3. Step 03: Install

ANSI/TIA-compliant installs with pre-staged kits, after-hours work and phased cutovers — we work around your operations, not through them.

  4. Step 04: Certify

Every run, rack and port is tested and documented before we leave the site. You get the reports.

  5. Step 05: Support

Post-install MAC work, warranty response and managed service contracts. We don’t disappear after sign-off.

A-05.3 FAQ

Common questions.

Can we keep our existing phone numbers?

In most cases, yes. Number porting moves your existing numbers to the new provider; depending on the carrier and how many numbers are involved, it can take anywhere from days to a few weeks. Plan the cutover so the old service isn’t cancelled until the port is complete.

What does our network need for VoIP?

Voice uses little bandwidth — roughly 100 kbps per call with a standard codec — but it is very sensitive to latency, jitter and packet loss. Quality-of-service prioritization, a dedicated voice VLAN, PoE switches for desk phones and a reliable internet connection (ideally with a backup) make the difference between clear calls and choppy ones.

What happens to our phones if the internet goes down?

Most cloud phone platforms can automatically forward calls to mobile apps or alternate numbers when desk phones go offline, so callers still reach you. A secondary internet connection keeps the office itself on the phones through an outage.

Can paging run through our phone system?

Yes. Many VoIP phones support multicast paging, and SIP paging adapters connect the phone system to overhead speakers and amplifiers — so one system handles calls, intercom and zone announcements.
